Seroca is more than a beauty centre. It is a place of becoming. Under the Mama Sanyu Foundation, women enter with nothing and leave with a skill, a product, and a place in a community that will not let them go it alone.
Carol —
Mama Sanyu.
Founder · Seroca Art & Beauty Therapy Centre
“The future of humanity is food.”
Before there was a school, before there was a programme, before the first woman arrived with nothing and left with something she had made with her own hands — there was Carol.
“Every skill I teach is a way of feeding someone. The beads are food. The butter is food. The knowledge — especially the knowledge — is food.”
Carol built the Mama Sanyu Foundation not as a charity, but as a kitchen. A place where women come in raw and leave refined. Where a woman who knows what she is capable of making will never go hungry again.
This is her story. It begins not at a beginning but in the middle of things — with a woman who already knew, who had always known, and who decided one day that knowing alone was not enough. That it had to be passed on.
Food as the original act of care
What you grow, make, and press into another person’s hands is the oldest form of power — and it has always belonged to women.
Mastery over credentials
A woman graduates when she knows it herself — when her hands move with confidence and she carries herself like someone who has found something that belongs to her.
Craft as nourishment
Beauty is not vanity. Craft is not hobby. Every skill taught at Seroca is a form of feeding — the woman, her family, her community.
Dignity through making
The particular confidence of a woman who has created something from nothing and held it in her hands — that is what Seroca is really teaching.
Carol’s founding belief is simple and radical: the future of humanity is food. Not technology. Not capital. The act of making something that sustains another person. Seroca exists to give that act back to women.

How we know you are ready
There are no exams here. No certificates. No fixed end date. A woman graduates from Seroca when she knows it — when her hands move with confidence, when she can teach what she has learned, and when she carries herself like someone who has found something that belongs to her. Mastery and self-confidence are the only graduation requirements we have ever needed.
