A Story About Miracles, Milk, and Making It Through
I woke up to CAD 500 sitting pretty in my M-Pesa account, and I ugly-cried. The good kind of ugly-cry. The kind where your face does things you didn’t know it could do.
Picture this: I rolled off my salvaged-from-the-neighbor’s-trash cushions (they’re actually quite comfy, thank you very much), stumbled to the kitchen, and just… collapsed. Knees hit the floor. Tears everywhere.
Full waterworks.
Was this really my thread for 2026?

Because honestly, if God did not intervene, I was toast. Burnt toast.
The kind you can’t even scrape.
When Sisters Shows Up
All I’d hoped for was my internet bill getting paid. That’s it. That was the dream. But God had other plans! A FULL MONTH’S SALARY dropped into my account like manna from heaven through my Auntie Kaye’s hands! Enough to keep me online for an entire year PLUS extra.
I’m grateful! 🙏
Sleep? Who needs sleep when God is moving!
I stayed up adding pages to my Atoto & Atori website, sketching ideas, dreaming bigger, letting the world in.
This blessing didn’t just give me two months of extra willpower—it launched me into orbit! My dearest Auntie Kaye just made it onto the sacred list: Nnalolile Yvi Founders, Yvi-Friends and Family: those that make it possible for me in the most beautiful ways.
Fueled by love and faith.
We thank the Lord God, for His faithful provision and for our Nnalolile Yvi Founders, who say yes when we whisper someone’s name to our hearts.
The Polka Dot Jumpsuit Chronicles
So naturally, I showered (important detail), threw on my FAVORITE polka dot jumpsuit (because good news deserves good outfits and also… I will tell you the story of Faith and this beautiful polka dot jumpsuit. ), and marched straight to the market.
My mission?
The Big Five Essentials:
- 🍽️ Food and house supplies
- 📚 A proper home office table
- 🌿 House plants (because adulting)
- 🔥 A cooker
- 🛏️ A MATTRESS (goodbye, floor life!)
Budget: Kes 45,000 in my M-Pesa, sent from Canada by this amazing woman whom we shared our favourite name.
Paying It Forward (Or Rather, Paying It Back)
But first things first—I had debts to clear. The petty ones. 50 KES here, 200 bob there.
You know those beautiful humans who trusted me when my wallet was lighter than air? Who never asked for promises but believed in me anyway? Yeah, them.
God reminded me:
“The wicked borrow and do not repay, but the righteous give generously.”
Psalms 37:21
So I paid them back, added a little thank-you tip, and felt about ten feet tall doing it. That’s what dignity feels like, friends. That’s how God works on my credit.
Infact- Mpesa just increased my Fuliza Limit to a credit limit of Kes 400
The Milk That Tells a Story 🥛
Then I bought a WHOLE BOX of 21 packets of 300ml milk. My absolute favorite drink!
Now, every time I’m thirsty, I remember:
God saw me.
God knew what I needed.
And He used someone thousands of miles away to answer my prayers.
That’s family right there. Not bound by blood or borders, but by faith and love.
Faith Stretched Thin
I’ve got people I call family scattered across the entire globe. Our faith in Christ’s story has led us down some wild paths of God’s providence. We’ve learned what it means to trust God when the cupboard is bare and the account says zero. Our ways, The Berean Christadelphians has really put me to public scrutiny and private testings.
Now, I’ve never tasted actual manna from the sky (everyone who has is conveniently dead, and I don’t have the recipe). I’d really rather NOT end up wandering in a desert, high and dry, waiting for bread to fall from clouds.
My faith has been stretched thin lately—thread-bare thin. But God is faithful even when my faith wobbles.
Sitting right here next to me is a receipt from Naivas Kikwetu (celebrating 35 glorious years since 1990), and it’s proof that God still provides. Still sees. Still cares.
“And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”
– Philippians 4:19
He really does, friends. He really does. I will need new experiences to learn otherwise.

Then I walked my happy self home, praising God the whole way. 🏡
The Table That Wasn’t (Yet)
The market had exactly ZERO good study tables. The ones they had? Highway robbery. Total ripoffs.
So that mission continues… and I’m trusting God will provide the right one at the right time. He’s been faithful this far; why would He stop now?
Learning to Make Better Choices
I’m learning to make better decisions with money and math. It’s a journey, okay? But honestly? I’ve tried. I’m PROUD of myself.
I have an entire wall dedicated to my financial obligations for this year. Every petty debt from 10 KES to my massive university student loan (HELB money—thank God for that lifeline). That loan has ballooned into something ridiculous, but I’m not sweating it.
God has carried me this far; He won’t drop me now.
When people saw me buy an Android phone for my studies instead of like starting a business or do something meaningful, they called it foolish. I canceled my disbursement altogether. But that phone? God used it to give me ACCESS.
To information.
To opportunities.
To education.
To people.
Walking Away When You Need To
Here’s what I learned hustling in Nairobi: I’m REALLY good at making money from odd jobs. They pay well too! But God has also given me the strength to walk away from money if the source doesn’t honor Him or bring peace to my soul.
Call me picky. Call me impractical. But when my soul is right with God, I make wise choices. I buy things that remind me of His goodness every time I look at them.
Life’s too short to chase money that costs you your peace. I invest in good memories everything else is vanity.
What This All Means
This story isn’t really about Auntie Kaye, though she’s incredible. It’s not even really about CAD 500 or shopping lists or polka dot jumpsuits.
It’s about God seeing you when you feel invisible.
It’s about God knowing your needs before you even voice them.
It’s about God using willing hearts across oceans to deliver exactly what you need, exactly when you need it.
“Every good and perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights.”
– James 1:17
Auntie Kaye was God’s delivery system for this perfect gift. And I’m grateful—grateful for her obedience, grateful for her generosity, grateful that she said yes when God whispered my name.
But mostly? I’m grateful TO God. For seeing me. For knowing me. For not forgetting about me even when I feel like I’m drowning.
This is what faith looks like when it’s stretched thin but doesn’t break.
This is what provision looks like when you’re down to your last hope.
This is what family looks like when it’s built on Christ, not just chromosomes.
All glory to God, friends.
All glory to God.
💛✨vY
