Dear Sis Ivy,
So lovely to hear from you.
I am glad that you attended the Busia gathering and met Bro David.
He does appear to be someone with a good grasp of the life of discipleship.
I think there was some discussion held among the members about the decline in contributions to the BCAF.
Which means that funds being sent to Africa will only cover essentials in future.
We have encouraged those in Kenya to set their priorities.
If food and health care continue to be top of the list it is possible the BCAF will not be able to fund gathering in the usual manner.
Which means the local members must decide how they are going to provide spiritual food to all.
Keeping in touch with each other by phone or social media may supply the encouragement needed to continue life in the Lord.
But will not replace the need for face to face meetings.
You have seen on the sister’s chat line how difficult it is to get the sisters to express an opinion.
They will quote a scriptural verse but not give their own thoughts.
If large gatherings are not feasible then each ecclesia is going to have to encourage interaction with those closest to them for study groups.
It would be helpful if young educated brethren and sisters like you and David could think about how to go forward on this.
It is difficult for the older ones to imagine doing anything other than what has already been done.
The numbers of believers are growing in Africa and declining in the West.
So Africa must become strong in knowledge and in practice.
May our loving Lord guide us all as we try to grow into a closer reflection of his character.
Your sister, Kaye
